Observing the Movement: Tecno at D’Days 2014

19-25 May 2014

Tecno, in conjunction with its historic French partners, rail operators SNCF and the design group AREP, are presenting a multimedia installation entitled "OBSERVING THE MOVEMENT" to coincide with the D’Days 2014 design festival. The installation is on view in the heart of the Gare de Lyon, Paris' most famous railway station, and an acclaimed icon of contemporary architecture.

OBSERVING THE MOVEMENT” uses a selection of artefacts, videos, images and sounds related to the theme of movement to provide a “break” from the hectic life of the railway station. This unusual context provides a stage for some of Tecno's most important and historical seating collections, chosen to illustrate different functional, technical and aesthetic characteristics. Among them is RS2, the public seating system currently in use in France's railway stations.

The RS2 seating system satisfies various needs in high traffic public spaces and offers excellent levels of comfort and wear resistance as well as serviceability, configurability and customisation. Accessories like lamps, stools and free-standing tables, even with electric power sockets, maximise the collection's functionality.

This latest project emphasises the importance of the collaboration between Tecno and the AREP design group in the service of rail travellers.
