Aeroporto Milano Linate

Milan Linate takes off with Aeris: restyling, expansion and technological upgrading operations are underway at the city's second airport.

The collaboration with SEA Milano has kicked off the renovation of the airport with a large order of Aeris seating systems, for a total of 1,600 chairs and 740 tables.

Designed by Grimshaw Architects, the iconic seating system with star-shaped bar encompasses 397 four-seater benches with dark brown leather finish and two electrified armrests. There are around 150 disabled seats available – and these are easily identifiable thanks to their plum-colored leather. The finish of the structures, bases and armrests is in a special shiny powder chrome, while the tables are made from black HPL with a marble finish. The option to magnetically fix the seating systems to the floor has been devised and incorporated specifically for Milan Linate.

The design, materials and finished involved in the project have been carefully selected based on sustainability, aesthetic and functional durability, compliance with the most stringent international fire-resistance protocols and easy maintenance. This means Aeris can easily replace parts and prolong the lifecycle of the products themselves.

Designing for high-traffic areas means operating in complex sites which require a meticulous approach to production management and scheduling, ensuring you can respond quickly and effectively to plans that are always changing.
