The ultimate chaise longue for 70 years. Since 1956, the year it went into production, P40 has confirmed its status as an absolute design icon: never discontinued, it has stood the test of time with the same expressive power. In 2026, the icon will be celebrated with a special edition in Dedar Adamo & Eva velvet.

For the occasion, the P40 is presented within a setting designed by Davide Fabio Colaci Studio. Strong in its aesthetic and welcoming in its forms, the armchair conceals within its essential and elegant lines a mechanism unique of its kind, capable of opening into a series of adjustable reclining positions up to complete closure. Versatile, functional, and full of character, it is a dynamic and essential armchair with irresistible comfort: its curves define an iconic design.

With its dynamic spirit, P40 lends itself beautifully to moments of home comfort as well as to refined executive, lounge, and reception environments. In residential interiors, it fits into living areas or spaces dedicated to reading and relaxation, where its versatility allows it to adapt to different rhythms of the day. An original reclining armchair with movable elements, the P40 features a metal base supporting a seat and backrest hinged to allow every intermediate angle between full extension and complete closure. A folding element beneath the seat supports the legs and conceals a metal footrest, while the headrest is extendable and the steel and rubber armrests can be folded down to facilitate seating. This ingenious design has made it an archetype of modern mechanical comfort. The P40 armchair - perhaps even more than the D70 sofa- has become Tecno’s ideological manifesto and remains the most renowned and celebrated piece in its collection today.

The smooth, fan-shaped reclining system, driven by its movable elements and mechanical joints, allows up to 486 customised positions, offering a full spectrum of adjustments for ultimate relaxation.
