Todo Modo: a story designed for the Louvre
Created in the shadow of the Louvre Pyramid, the Todo Modo seating system is one of the most iconic creations developed by Tecno in collaboration with architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte. Designed to meet a unique requirement—to welcome and offer comfort to visitors to the Grand Louvre without ever obstructing their view of the works—Todo Modo is a tribute to discreet beauty, functional design, and durability.

A project created for the Louvre
In the 1990s, the Grand Louvre underwent a major architectural and museum transformation. On the right bank of the Seine, between Rue de Rivoli and the central courtyard, the museum called on Tecno to create reception areas worthy of its thousand-year history. In the restaurant rooms, a new furnishing system took shape, designed to interact with the art without ever overshadowing it: Todo Modo. Its reversible backrest, designed to allow the works to be viewed from every angle, defined a new way of experiencing the museum space.

The return of a classic
“Twenty years ago, I conceived Todo Modo as a timeless element for the Louvre. Today, I found it again in the Tecno laboratories, without a wrinkle!” says Jean-Michel Wilmotte with irony. And indeed, Todo Modo continues to live on, renewed in its materials but faithful to its identity. An object that does not belong only to the past, but finds new spaces to inhabit every day—where comfort meets the art of hospitality.

A timeless design
Todo Modo is much more than a chair: it is a modular, dynamic system in which geometric volumes and customizable upholstery combine to create fluid, contemporary environments. With or without a backrest, each element adapts perfectly to lounges, offices, co-working areas, or domestic spaces, while maintaining its original spirit: discreet, yet always present. A shape that does not follow trends, but transcends them.
