Double selection for Tecno in the ADI Design Index 2015

’s design and manufacturing know-how has been awarded by The ADI Permanent Design Observatory with a double selection, Vela and W80 products, for the prestigious yearbook ADI Design Index 2015 which collects yearly the best of Italian design and will end with the Compasso d’Oro award appointment in 2017. The selection has been officially presented on October 5th in Milan at the ADI space for Expo.

Vela seats and W80 partition system, respectively selected in the thematic areas Design for work“ and “Design of material and technological system” confirm Tecno’s flair for integrating the latest technological advances and timeless style in its products.

Vela, the family of seats conceived for office spaces, soft contract and residential environments, is the result of collaboration between Centro Progetti Tecno and the Spanish studio responsible for the design, Lievore Altherr Molina. The seat’s technological heart is concealed in a sophisticated  “responsive” mechanism  in the body of the chair, which allows to automatically adopt a natural posture based on the weight of the user. In the various different versions, seat adjustments are made using a dedicated control which is discreetly positioned and easy to reach. Models are available with spoke, sled and cantilever structures and with four legs in wood. A wide range of finishes and materials are available both for seats and backrests, combining them with metal or fully upholstered armrests.

W80 is a partition system that satisfies all possible structural, acoustic, equipment and flexibility needs and can be customized to suit any work or meeting space. Created by Centro Progetti Tecno in collaboration with architect Daniele Del Missier and Elliot Engineering & Consulting, W80 is covered by five industrial patents which make it the most technological advanced product in its field.

The partition system consists of extruded aluminium profiles with a telescopic insert and integrated adjustment jack that makes it possible to compensate for any floor or ceiling deflection. The shaped part of the profile allows for the panel to be attached with a Snap-on system in co-extruded plastic. The simplicity of the system, the easy installation process and the re-configurability allow W80 to be included also in large project.
